On a wet and sloppy course, the Warhawk boys finished 4th out of 10 teams Saturday morning at the Westerville North Warrior Classic. Olentangy Liberty took the boys team title with 34 points, while Olentangy Orange (48), and Worthington Kilbourne (68) rounded out the top three teams. The Warhawks Austin Smith was the Division I individual champion with a time of 16:41. Other top finishers for Central included senior Sam Reyes (25th, 17:57), sophomore Josh South (30th, 18:18), senior Jordan Klapper (33rd, 18:24), and junior Jacob Owens (36th, 18:37). Rounding out Central’s top seven were seniors Brant Henson (37th, 18:37) and Jeremy Gellner (39th, 18:52).
The boys reserve team finished 3rd out of 8 teams in the boys open race. Central’s top three reserve runners included senior Shane Hendricks (12th, 18:47), freshman Evan Radecki (14th, 19:04), and sophomore Danny Gubser (15th, 19:22). The boys will travel to Tiffin, OH next Saturday (9/9) to compete in the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival.
