The Westerville Central boys basketball team hosted Gahanna last night in a non-league contest. An electrifying start that had the Warhawks scoring the first 11 points of the game propelled the team to a 66-51 victory. Central led 22-6 after the first quarter of play. The Lions fought back and only trailed by 4, 49-43, entering the 4th quarter. They would get no closer as key baskets by Chaz Dixon, Quincy Clark and Tasos Cook pushed the lead back to double digits. Tyler Combest’s game management and nifty assists were key in securing the win. Dixon led all scorers with 22. Will LeMaire, knocked down 6 three-point goals to add 18.
The team returns to action Friday in a Buckeye Division game at Olentangy Liberty.
