The Westerville Central boys and girls bowling teams each captured championships Saturday at the Central District Division I Bowling Tournament held at HP Lanes.
The boys put together a strong Baker Game series to narrowly defeat the runners-up from Marion Harding High School. The Warhawks trailed Harding by 21 pins entering the Baker games but outscored the Presidents by 48 to squeak out a 4243-4216 win. Wes Minke (678) and Devon Richardson (604) led the way for Central.
The girls team dominated the field beating runner-up Big Walnut by 156 pins. Reace Gonzalez finished 3rd overall with a 628 total. Mackenzie Halloy (552), Sammy McLaughlin (540) and Jenna Owsiak (540) also turned in strong games for the Warhawks….click here for all the results from the district tournament.
